On Memorial Day Weekend, we hold a bunch of different events, all designed to bring our community members out to enjoy some positive interaction, vendor shopping, and friendly competitions. Our Cruise Up Car Show has grown to one of the most popular in our little neck of the woods, and our Corn Hole Tournaments and Mel Sonnleitner Memorial Pinewood Derby, are sure to bring a smile to your face. Free carnival rides for the kiddos and FIREWORKS are a great attention grabber, not to mention the 2 nights when we shut down the main street, and have us a grand ol’ street dance.
The shining light of the Memorial Day Weekend is not to our credit. On Monday morning, the Dee Victor Thomas Post, 1155 of The American Legion hosts a wonderful parade and memorial service at the town park, to honor those who have fallen to secure our freedom. It is, after all, the very reason for the day.
